Aloha Everyone! Just wanted all of you to know that my latest release will hit the stores on or around May 28th .
THE ACCIDENTAL LAWMAN is a companion book to last year’s HOMECOMING and is another western set in the 1870’s in the fictional town of Glory, Texas.
THE ACCIDENTAL LAWMAN is the story of Hank Larson, a widower who moves to Texas to start a newspaper. As publisher, editor and reporter of the fledging Glory Gazette, Hank is told there’s no newspaper in Glory because there is no news—nothing ever happens.
But Hank doesn’t even have time to unpack his printing press before he heads to the bank where he bumps into Amelia Hawthorne—literally—and the two of them accidentally foil a hold up.
One thing leads to another and Hank is railroaded into becoming the town’s first sheriff. While he finds himself falling in love with Amelia, he ends up tracking down her younger brother, Evan, who’s riding with an outlaw gang. Though Hank has promised Amelia that he’ll do all he can to bring Evan in without harming him, there are some promises a man can’t keep no matter how much he loves a woman.
I love writing historicals again and can guarantee that like HOMECOMING, THE ACCIDENTAL LAWMAN, is a page turner that brings the old West to life. Naturally the road to a happy ending is full of as many twists and turns and setbacks as I could squeeze in. The heroine, Amelia, is an apothecary who not only has a knowledge of herbal remedies, but since her father’s death, she is the only one the town looks to for doctoring. Hank is a writer forced into a job he doesn’t want but he’s a man of honor who has taken an oath and he’s bound and determined to do his duty. Their emotional love story tests the depths of forgiveness.
If you haven’t read HOMECOMING yet, you can still order a copy from your local bookseller or www.amazon.com and while you’re at it, order THE ACCIDENTAL LAWMAN, too.
Here are just a few of the comments readers have left at the www.jillmarielandis.com Guestbook about HOMECOMING—
“Loved it!” “Couldn’t put it down!” “Keep ‘em coming!” “Made me cry! “Thank you for an enjoyable, heartwarming story!”
It doesn’t get any better than that. I’ll look forward to hearing what you have to say about THE ACCIDENTAL LAWMAN, too!
This month I’ll be traveling in California and Arizona, spending time with family and enjoying Mother’s Day with my mom, Maggi. Wherever you are and whatever you’re doing this month, I hope you and yours are healthy, happy and safe.
